West Coast Pilots is a one-stop pilotage service provider. In addition to all marine pilot tasks, our pilots can perform draft surveys and act as loading / warping masters as required by the client and can provide expert advice on marine pilotage requirements for new port developments. The company is also the only current provider in Australia of integrated POAC services for crude oil ship to ship transfers.

Our pilots can be relied on to give expert advice on berthing/sailing limitations, towage requirements, Under Keel Clearance, mooring / shift ship arrangements and ship loading sequencing and documentation. Most of our marine pilots are licensed for a number our contracted ports, which gives them a unique perspective on port operations. It is the experience gained in this multi-port environment that gives West Coast Pilots an advantage over single port pilot providers.

The company’s pool of contracted pilots has experience in all aspects of the maritime industry, including barge operations, dry bulk, geared bulk, container, tanker and offshore industries. A number of our West Coast Pilots are experienced in offshore FPSO and SBM pilotage. These pilots can also act as mooring and loadmasters and provide marine advice as required by the client.

The executive team and pilot group’s vast experience in the maritime industry means they are ideally placed to advise clients on any marine pilotage and associated port development matters. West Coast Pilots have recently provided advice and experienced pilots to simulation studies for a number of green field port developments in Australia and globally.
